Quick answer
The 14oz Cup with Lid is a durable, stylish silicone cup designed for kids 5 and up, offering a leak-proof lid and a design that blends with adult tableware.
Why size and design matter for older kids
By age 5, children often want to use cups that look like what adults use. The 14oz Cup with Lid fills that need with a sleek, modern look that fits right in the cabinet. Its 14oz capacity is generous enough for water, milk, or juice without being too heavy for little hands.
The silicone construction makes it virtually unbreakable, which is a practical advantage over glass or ceramic. The included lid helps reduce spills during transitions from table to sink or when carrying the cup around the house.
Trade-offs to consider
While the silicone lid is great for preventing major spills, it is not fully airtight. If your child tends to shake or toss their cup, some liquid may still escape around the lid edge. For fully leak-proof needs, a screw-top bottle might be a better fit.
The cup is designed for room-temperature or cold drinks. Hot liquids could warp the silicone or pose a burn risk, so it is best used for water, milk, or chilled beverages.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 14oz Cup + Lid dishwasher safe?
Yes, the silicone cup and lid are dishwasher safe. Place them on the top rack for best results. Hand washing is also fine and may extend the life of the silicone.
Can my 4-year-old use this cup?
The cup is designed for kids 5 and up. A 4-year-old may manage with supervision, but the 14oz size could be heavy for smaller hands. Consider starting with a smaller cup if your child is still building fine motor skills. Check your child's comfort with a larger cup before buying.
Does the lid make it leak-proof?
The silicone lid helps prevent spills during normal use, but it is not fully leak-proof. If the cup is turned upside down or shaken vigorously, some liquid may seep out. For fully leak-proof needs, look for a screw-top lid.
