Quick answer
If you want the definitive home video release of this classic anime with a brand-new 4K restoration, pre-order the Angel's Egg Collector's Edition [4K UHD + Blu-ray] now. It ships on September 22, 2026.
Why this release matters
Forty years after its original release, GKIDS is presenting an all-new 4K restoration of Angel's Egg. This Collector's Edition includes both a 4K UHD disc and a standard Blu-ray, giving you flexibility depending on your setup. The pre-order price of USD 39.59 is a significant discount from the catalog price of USD 59.99.
What to expect from the pre-order
This item is a pre-order and will ship on September 22, 2026. The Collector's Edition packaging typically includes premium artwork and physical extras, though specific package contents beyond the two discs have not been detailed. If you prefer to wait for unboxing videos or detailed specs, you may want to hold off.
Pre-order decision rules
- Pre-order now if: You want the lowest price (USD 39.59 vs. USD 59.99 catalog price) and are excited about the new 4K restoration. Lock in the discount before the release date.
- Wait if: You need to know the exact package contents, special features, or physical extras before committing. Check back after unboxing reviews appear closer to the September 22 ship date.
- Skip if: You already own a satisfactory Blu-ray or DVD copy and don't care about 4K HDR or the new restoration. The standard Blu-ray alone may not justify an upgrade for you.
