Quick answer
Yes, the Athletic Brewing Co. plush can dog toy is safe for most dogs when used with supervision. It is a soft, sewn plush toy without small parts, but like any plush, it can be torn apart by aggressive chewers. Choose the Run Wild or Upside Dawn style based on your dog's play style and always inspect the toy regularly.
What is the Athletic Brewing plush can dog toy made of?
The toy is a custom plush can designed to look like the brand's Run Wild (blue) or Upside Dawn (yellow) non-alcoholic beer cans. It is made of soft fabric with stitched details and no hard plastic parts, making it suitable for dogs who like to carry and cuddle. The toy does not contain squeakers or loose fill that could pose a choking hazard if ingested.
Is it durable enough for heavy chewers?
This plush can is intended for play and cuddling, not for aggressive chewing. If your dog is a power chewer who tears apart stuffed toys quickly, this may not hold up. For gentle or moderate chewers, the toy offers a fun, lightweight option for fetch or carrying. Always supervise the first few play sessions to gauge your dog's interaction.
How should I clean the plush can dog toy?
The toy can be spot cleaned with mild soap and water. Avoid machine washing or drying as it may damage the fabric or shape. Let it air dry completely before giving it back to your dog. Regular cleaning helps remove dirt and drool, keeping the toy fresh for longer.
FAQ: Athletic Brewing Co. Plush Can Dog Toy Safety
Is the toy machine washable?
No, spot cleaning is recommended to preserve the fabric and stitching. Machine washing could cause the toy to lose its shape or damage the seams. Spot clean only.
Can this toy be used for fetch?
Yes, the plush can is light enough for gentle fetch indoors or in a yard. Avoid throwing it in muddy or rough terrain to keep it clean and intact. Great for gentle fetch.
What if my dog tears the toy?
If the toy becomes torn or stuffing is exposed, remove it immediately to prevent ingestion. The toy is not indestructible, so monitor for wear and replace when needed. Replace if torn.
