Quick answer

Pre-ordering Banpresto figures in 2026 secures your spot for popular characters like Kaneki Ken, Aizawa Shota, Sugawara Koushi, and Himmel before they sell out. Focus on release timing, line exclusivity, and price vs. aftermarket value.

Why pre-order Banpresto figures in 2026?

Banpresto figures are known for their affordable price points and wide availability, but popular characters—especially from hit series like Tokyo Ghoul, My Hero Academia, Haikyu!!, and Frieren—can sell out quickly after release. Pre-ordering guarantees you get the figure at the original retail price, avoiding aftermarket markups that can double or triple the cost.

Another reason to pre-order is that Banpresto often releases figures in waves or limited production runs. The Grandista, MAXIMATIC, and Glasscape lines each have distinct sculpting and scale, and some are exclusive to specific retailers or regions. A pre-order ensures you don't miss out on a line you specifically want.

Trade-offs: Pre-order vs. waiting

Pre-ordering locks in the price, but you'll have to wait months for the figure to ship. If you're patient and want the lowest possible price, pre-ordering is the way to go. On the other hand, if you prefer to see in-hand photos and reviews before committing, waiting until after release might be better—but you risk paying more or missing out entirely.

Some Banpresto figures, like the Haikyu!! One Nice Serve!! series, are designed as cheerful, non-action poses that appeal to collectors who value character expression over dynamic action. If that's your style, pre-ordering early is smart because these niche designs may not get a second production run.

How to decide which Banpresto figure to pre-order

  • Check the figure line: Grandista (large scale, detailed), MAXIMATIC (dynamic action poses), Glasscape (artistic backdrop), and One Nice Serve!! (character expressions). Each line has a different style and price point. Choose the line that matches your display preference.
  • Compare price vs. aftermarket risk: Banpresto figures typically retail between $21 and $28. Aftermarket prices can double for popular characters. Pre-ordering locks in the lower price. If the character is from a top-tier anime (Tokyo Ghoul, My Hero Academia), pre-order to avoid paying more later.
  • Consider release timing: Pre-orders often ship 3-6 months after the order date. Check the estimated release month to see if you're willing to wait. If you need the figure for a specific event or gift, pre-order well in advance.
  • Look for retailer exclusives: Some Banpresto figures are exclusive to specific stores or regions. Confirm the retailer's exclusivity status before ordering to avoid missing out. If the figure is marked as exclusive, pre-order immediately.

  • Banpresto – Tokyo Ghoul – Kaneki Ken II Grandista Figure[Pre-Order]: From Tokyo Ghoul, Kaneki Ken returns to Banpresto's premium Grandista series with his Kagune fully unleashed, standing 27 cm tall. The Grandista line's large scale and detailed sculpting make this a centerpiece figure; pre-ordering ensures you get the version with the fully displayed Kagune.

  • Banpresto – My Hero Academia – Aizawa Shota Maximatic Figure[Pre-Order]: My Hero Academia's Aizawa Shota (Eraser Head) makes his debut in Banpresto's MAXIMATIC line, featuring his Capturing Weapon swirling around him. MAXIMATIC figures emphasize dynamic battle poses; if you want a dramatic Aizawa figure, this is the only one in that line—pre-order to avoid missing it.

  • Banpresto – Haikyu!! – Sugawara Koushi One Nice Serve!! Figure[Pre-Order]: The Haikyu!! One Nice Serve!! figure captures Sugawara Koushi cheering enthusiastically, rather than in a spike or block pose. This figure celebrates character personality over action; perfect for fans who love the team's camaraderie, and pre-ordering guarantees a spot since it's a niche design.

  • Banpresto – Frieren: Beyond Journey's End – Himmel Glasscape Figure[Pre-Order]: The Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Himmel Glasscape figure features a stained glass-inspired backdrop for an elegant display. Glasscape figures are known for their artistic presentation; pre-ordering ensures you get the backdrop piece, which is integral to the figure's appeal.
