Quick answer
The reissued S.H.Figuarts Broly uses the same proven engineering as the original, but its long-term durability depends on handling and storage, not the figure's age.
Why build quality myths persist
Many collectors worry that a reissue like the Broly figure may have weaker joints or cheaper plastic than a modern release. In reality, Bandai Tamashii Nations typically uses the same molds and materials for reissues unless a running change is announced. Without a manufacturer statement, you should assume the reissue matches the original's construction.
What we know about the Broly reissue
This is a pre-order item with an estimated arrival in March 2027. The total cost is $79.99 plus shipping, with a $5 non-refundable deposit. No changes to the figure's design or materials have been disclosed. The catalog does not list any updated joint construction or reinforced parts compared to the original release.
Verdicts on common myths
- Myth: Reissues have weaker joints than the original: Unsubstantiated. Without a Bandai announcement of retooled joints, the reissue uses the same mold and materials as the first run. Joint tightness can vary between individual units regardless of release wave.
- Myth: Modern figures always outlast older designs: False. Durability depends on plastic formulation, joint engineering, and user care. Many S.H.Figuarts from 2018–2020 remain sturdy today when stored away from heat and UV light. The Broly reissue uses a proven design, not an experimental one.
- Myth: Pre-ordering guarantees a better-built figure: No. Pre-ordering secures your copy but has no effect on production quality. The figure you receive will be identical to one bought at retail after release. The $5 deposit is non-refundable, so only pre-order if you want the figure regardless of minor variations. Wait for early unboxing videos if build quality is your top concern.
