Quick Answer
Choose the Canon imageCLASS LBP647Cdw if you want vivid colour and wireless convenience; pick the LBP646Cdw if you need solid colour output on a tighter budget.
Price vs Features
The LBP646Cdw is priced at USD 279.30 (compared to USD 399.00), while the LBP647Cdw is USD 323.28 (compared to USD 449.00). The LBP647Cdw costs about USD 44 more, but it adds wireless connectivity and a stronger emphasis on vivid colour output.
If your office prints mostly text with occasional colour graphics, the LBP646Cdw covers that without overspending. If you regularly share colour documents across devices, the wireless capability of the LBP647Cdw may justify the extra cost.
Colour Quality and Wireless Needs
Both printers are designed for colour documents, but the LBP647Cdw is marketed specifically for 'vivid colour' and 'high print quality'. The LBP646Cdw focuses on 'vivid and vibrant colour documents' with convenience.
The LBP647Cdw's wireless connection lets you print from laptops, tablets, and phones without cables. The LBP646Cdw, while reliable, doesn't advertise wireless in its supplied facts, so if Wi-Fi printing is essential, the LBP647Cdw is the safer bet.
Trade-Offs at a Glance
- Budget vs Wireless: If you need wireless printing and vivid colour, pay the extra for the LBP647Cdw. If you can work with a wired setup and basic colour, save money with the LBP646Cdw. Assess whether your team prints from mobile devices before deciding.
- Colour Impact: The LBP647Cdw is positioned for high-quality, vivid colour output. The LBP646Cdw still delivers vibrant documents but without the same emphasis on high print quality. If colour accuracy is critical for client-facing materials, lean toward the LBP647Cdw.
- Long-Term Value: The LBP647Cdw's higher upfront cost may be offset by the convenience of wireless and better colour quality over time. The LBP646Cdw is a lower-risk investment for basic needs. Calculate your total cost of ownership, including toner and maintenance, before purchasing.
