Quick answer
Use the SeaLife Micro HD, HD+, 2.0 & 3.0 USB Adapter & Cable Kit (Type B) to charge your camera from any standard USB power source. The kit includes a Type-B adapter and cable that connect directly to the camera's charging port.
Why use the dedicated USB kit instead of a generic cable
The SeaLife USB Adapter & Cable Kit is designed specifically for Micro-series cameras. The Type-B connector fits snugly into the camera's proprietary charging port, reducing the risk of loose connections or pin damage that can occur with mismatched cables.
Generic USB cables may appear to fit but can deliver inconsistent power or fail to establish a proper charging circuit. Using the correct kit ensures reliable charging and protects the camera's internal electronics.
Step-by-step charging process
- Connect the Type-B adapter to the cable: Plug the Type-B adapter into the USB cable's micro-USB end. Ensure the connection is firm and fully seated. A loose adapter connection can interrupt charging. Push until you hear a click.
- Attach the adapter to your SeaLife Micro camera: Insert the Type-B connector into the camera's charging port. It fits only one way, so do not force it. Forcing the connector can damage the port. If it does not slide in easily, check alignment.
- Plug the USB end into a power source: Connect the standard USB end of the cable to a USB wall charger, computer port, or power bank. The camera battery indicator will light up to show charging. Use a charger rated at 5V/1A or higher. Low-power USB ports may charge very slowly or not at all.
- Monitor charging status: The camera's LED indicator glows steady red while charging and turns green when the battery is full. Full charge typically takes 2-3 hours. If the LED does not light, check all connections and try a different USB power source.
- Disconnect after charging: Once the LED turns green, unplug the USB cable from the power source first, then remove the adapter from the camera. Leaving the camera connected to power after full charge does not harm the battery but is unnecessary.
