Quick answer
The clearance Men's Ventum Windshell is a Gen 1 ultralight wind jacket available in Azure Blue at a reduced price, but it's important to check the fit and understand the bargain bin policy before purchasing.
Gen 1 vs. Current Generation
This is the first generation of the Ventum Windshell. While it provides the same basic wind protection and packability, the fit and some details may differ from the current version. If you are familiar with the latest model, expect slight variations in cut and features.
Why Consider a Clearance Item?
The main trade-off is price versus selection and return policy. You get a significant discount off the original $79.95 price, but you must accept the specific color and size available (Azure Blue, Medium) and agree to the store's Bargain Item Policy, which may have different return terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size is available?
The clearance listing is for a Men's Medium in Azure Blue. If you typically wear a different size, this jacket may not be suitable.
How does the fit compare to the current version?
As a Gen 1 product, the fit may be slightly different from the current Ventum Windshell. You can check the original listing for specific measurements, but be prepared for a potentially different cut. If possible, compare measurements from the original listing to a jacket you already own that fits well.
What is the Bargain Item Policy?
This policy governs all bargain bin purchases, including this windshell. It typically covers return eligibility, timeframes, and warranty limitations. Read it fully before adding the item to your cart. Always review the policy to avoid surprises; clearance items often have final-sale terms.
Is this a good choice for ultralight backpacking?
Yes, it's a lightweight wind jacket that packs small, making it a great addition to an ultralight kit. However, it is not waterproof, so it's best used for wind protection and light weather on the trail.
