Quick answer
The Combat Zone: Generation RED Starter Gang is a complete box set of cyberpunk miniatures and cards for fielding a youth gang in the Combat Zone tabletop wargame. This FAQ answers your top questions about contents, assembly, and gameplay.
What makes Generation RED different from other Combat Zone gangs?
Unlike adult-run gangs, Generation RED focuses on youth-run street factions in the lawless Combat Zones. The miniatures reflect a scrappier, more improvised style compared to the Chrome Jocks or Danger Gals, with cyber-enhancements that feel cobbled together rather than military-grade.
This gang is ideal if you want a narrative-driven force that represents the next generation fighting for control in a cyberpunk city.
Do I need other products to play with this starter?
The box includes all miniatures and cards to field a complete Generation RED gang, so you can start playing right out of the box. However, you will need the core Combat Zone rulebook and dice to play the full game.
Terrain and additional gangs are optional but enhance the experience. The starter is a great entry point if you're new to Combat Zone.
Frequently asked questions
What's inside the box?
The box contains multiple plastic miniatures representing youth gang members with cyber-enhancements, plus the cards needed to field them in Combat Zone games. The exact miniature count and card list are printed on the box.
Are the miniatures pre-assembled?
No, the miniatures come on sprues and require assembly. You'll need plastic glue or superglue, clippers, and a hobby knife. Painting is optional but recommended for tabletop play. Set aside an evening for assembly if you're new to miniature wargaming.
Can I field this gang in a Combat Zone campaign?
Yes. Generation RED is a full faction with its own rules and cards, suitable for both one-off skirmishes and narrative campaigns. The starter box gives you a competitive force out of the gate.
Who is this starter best for?
Best for players who want a narrative-driven, youth-focused gang with a scrappy aesthetic. Not ideal if you prefer heavily armored or high-tech factions like Chrome Jocks. Consider your preferred playstyle before buying.
