Quick answer
Yes, you can combine the TQA Music Expansion Pack and Mi Scusi! Dating Expansion Pack, but you need to use them with their respective core games—they aren't cross-compatible.
Why you might want to combine them
If you're hosting a diverse group of friends, using both expansions lets you cater to different tastes. The TQA Music pack adds queer-themed fun, while Mi Scusi! Dating brings Italian romantic comedy vibes. Running them side by side keeps everyone engaged.
The catch: no direct cross-play
Each expansion is designed for its own core game. The TQA Music Expansion Pack works only with The Queer Agenda, and Mi Scusi! Dating requires the Mi Scusi! base game. You can't use TQA cards in a Mi Scusi! round, but you can alternate games during the same party.
Diagnosis: mixing the packs
- Symptom: You want to use both expansions in one game session but don't know if they work together.
- Likely cause: Each expansion is tied to a different core game, so you can't shuffle them into a single deck. Check which core games you own—The Queer Agenda for TQA and Mi Scusi! base for the Dating pack.
- Corrective action: Run two separate game stations or alternate rounds: one with TQA Music, one with Mi Scusi! Dating. Let players choose which to join. If you only have one core game, pick the expansion that matches it.
- Stop or choose another option: If you expected a single combined deck, stop—that won't work. Instead, consider buying both core games for a full hybrid night.
What each expansion adds
-
TQA - Music Expansion Pack: Written by LGBTQ+ people, for LGBTQ+ people (and their favorite allies). It creates an inclusive, celebratory atmosphere that straight party games often miss.
