Quick answer

Most Aarke Carbonator problems—weak carbonation, water leaks, or a stuck push button—trace back to an empty or improperly seated CO2 cylinder, a worn bottle seal, or overfilling past the fill line. Start by checking the cylinder is tightly screwed in and the bottle is filled to the marked level. If the issue persists after these steps, stop using the unit and contact Aarke support.

CO2 Cylinder

CO2 cylinder

Symptom: Low fizz or no carbonation

If your water comes out flat or only lightly sparkling, the most likely cause is a CO2 cylinder that is empty, not fully punctured, or not screwed in tightly enough. Remove the cylinder and reinsert it, turning until you feel firm resistance—do not force it. A cylinder that has been used for many bottles may simply be depleted; if you have a spare, swap it in to test. Another common cause is water that is too warm: cold water holds carbonation better, so chill your bottle in the refrigerator before carbonating. Finally, check that you are pressing the carbonation button fully and holding it for the recommended time. For the Carbonator Pro, the Push-to-Lock™ feature requires a firm, single-handed press until it locks; a half-press will release gas without fully carbonating.

  • Replace or reseat the CO2 cylinder.
  • Use cold water (around 4°C/39°F).
  • Press and hold the carbonation button until it locks (Pro) or for 2–3 seconds (Carbonator 3).

Symptom: Water leaks from the bottle or base

Leaks usually come from overfilling the bottle above the fill line, a damaged or missing bottle seal, or a bottle that is not screwed into the carbonator head tightly. Empty the bottle, check the fill line, and refill only to that mark. Inspect the rubber seal inside the carbonator head—if it is cracked, hardened, or missing, water will escape during carbonation. A replacement seal is inexpensive and easy to fit. Also make sure the bottle is compatible: Aarke Carbonators are designed for their specific bottles, and using a third-party bottle can cause leaks. If the leak continues after checking these points, the internal valve may be faulty; stop using the unit and contact support.

  • Fill only to the marked line.
  • Inspect and replace the bottle seal if worn.
  • Use only Aarke-branded bottles designed for your model.

Symptom: Push button is stuck or hard to press

A sticky or jammed carbonation button is often caused by dried syrup or mineral buildup around the button mechanism, especially if you carbonate flavored drinks directly in the bottle (which Aarke does not recommend). Wipe the button area with a damp cloth and mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly. Do not submerge the carbonator in water. If the button still does not move freely, the internal mechanism may be damaged—do not attempt to disassemble the unit yourself, as this can void the warranty and compromise safety. In that case, contact Aarke support for repair or replacement options.

  • Clean the button area with a damp cloth—never immerse the unit.
  • Avoid carbonating anything other than plain water.
  • If the button remains stuck, stop and seek professional service.

Diagnosis: match your symptom to the likely cause

  • Low fizz or no carbonation: Check CO2 cylinder (empty, loose, or not punctured), water temperature (use cold), and button press technique (hold until lock or 2–3 seconds). If fizz improves with a new cylinder and cold water, the issue was gas or temperature—no repair needed.
  • Water leaks during carbonation: Inspect fill level (do not exceed line), bottle seal (replace if worn), and bottle compatibility (use Aarke bottles only). If leak stops after reseating the bottle and replacing the seal, you've solved it. If it persists, the internal valve may be faulty—stop and contact support.
  • Push button stuck or hard to press: Clean around the button with a damp cloth and mild soap; avoid submerging. Do not carbonate flavored drinks. If the button still does not move freely, do not force it—contact Aarke support for service.
