Quick answer
The Sphero Craft Pack is a versatile kit with over 31 different crafting accessories, designed to complement Sphero robots and engineering kits for hands-on STEM projects in the classroom.
What's inside the Craft Pack
The Sphero Craft Pack includes a wide variety of crafting accessories such as pipe cleaners, googly eyes, felt sheets, foam shapes, and more. It contains over 31 different items, making it a comprehensive set for student inventions and robotics missions.
While the pack offers great variety, it does not include any Sphero robot or engineering kit. You'll need to purchase those separately to use the craft supplies effectively.
The pack is designed to be a perfect complement for creations made with any Sphero robot or engineering kit, providing the materials needed to bring ideas to life.
How to use it in the classroom
The Craft Pack is ideal for Sphero Robotics Missions where students design and build attachments or costumes for their robots. It also works well for general invention challenges, encouraging creativity and problem-solving.
Teachers can use the supplies for quick prototyping or as part of a larger project-based learning unit. The variety of materials allows for open-ended exploration, but note that some items like glue or tape are not included, so you may need to supplement with basic classroom supplies.
Because the pack contains many small parts, it's best suited for supervised use with younger students. Older students can use the materials independently for more complex builds.
Decision rules for buying the Craft Pack
- Check your robot compatibility: The Craft Pack works with any Sphero robot or engineering kit. If you already own one, this pack is a great add-on. If you don't have a robot yet, consider purchasing a kit first.
- Assess your project needs: If your class focuses on open-ended invention challenges or Sphero missions, the pack provides the materials needed. For more structured art projects, you might need additional specialty supplies.
- Plan for consumables: The pack includes reusable items like felt and foam, but some items like pipe cleaners are consumable. Budget for replenishment if you plan to use the pack extensively. Consider buying multiple packs for larger classes to ensure enough materials for everyone.
