Quick answer
The Cyber Citizen Shockman Collection offers the same retro co-op action on both Switch and PS5. Your choice comes down to portability versus performance, and whether you want a region-free disc or cartridge.
What's inside the collection
Both versions include the same game: a revival of the classic Shockman co-op action platformer. You get the full campaign with a new enemy threat, and the experience is designed to feel timeless rather than dated. The collection is region-free, so it works on any console worldwide regardless of where you buy it.
Pre-order window and availability
This is an open pre-order for a limited time only. Pre-orders close on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time. After that, the standard edition may not be reprinted, so if you want a physical copy, order before the deadline. Limited Run Games handles these releases in batches, so missing the window means paying aftermarket prices later.
How to choose between Switch and PS5
- Choose Switch if: You want to play co-op on the go or in handheld mode. The Switch version gives you the flexibility to play anywhere, which is ideal for a retro co-op game that shines in short bursts or during travel.
- Choose PS5 if: You prefer a more stable performance and want to play on a big screen with a DualSense controller. The PS5 version may offer slightly smoother frame pacing, though both versions run the same retro-style game.
- Pre-order deadline: Pre-orders close on February 23, 2025 at 11:59 PM Eastern. After that, the standard edition may not be available again. Set a reminder and order before the cutoff. Mark your calendar now so you don't miss the window.
