Quick answer
Display your NASCAR Funko Pop! figures on a stable, level shelf away from direct sunlight and use a clear acrylic dust cover to keep them clean without fading.
Why display matters for vinyl figures
Funko Pop! figures, like the Bubba Wallace #17 vinyl figure, are made of soft vinyl that can warp in heat or fade in UV light. A thoughtful display keeps them looking new and preserves their collectible value.
Step-by-step display guide
- Choose a stable, level surface: Place the figure on a shelf or desk that won't wobble. Avoid high-traffic areas where it could be knocked over. A common mistake is using a slanted surface that makes the figure lean or fall. Check that the shelf is level with a small bubble level.
- Keep away from direct sunlight: Vinyl figures fade when exposed to UV rays. Position the shelf in a spot that never gets direct sun, even for a few minutes. A common mistake is thinking a north-facing window is safe—UV still penetrates glass. Use UV-filtering window film if the room has windows.
- Use a clear acrylic dust cover: A simple acrylic case or the original window box (if kept closed) prevents dust buildup without hiding the figure. A common mistake is using a cloth cover, which traps dust and scratches the vinyl. Wipe the acrylic cover monthly with a microfiber cloth.
- Rotate the figure occasionally: If you have multiple figures, swap their positions every few months to prevent uneven exposure to light or air. A common mistake is leaving a figure in one spot for years, causing one side to fade more. Set a calendar reminder every 3 months to rotate.
