Quick Answer

The D&D Tomb of Annihilation Dice Masters set is a new expansion for WizKids' Dice Building Game that introduces a draft-friendly pack format while staying fully compatible with all other Dice Masters sets.

What Makes the Tomb of Annihilation Pack Format Different?

The Tomb of Annihilation set uses a new pack configuration designed to make drafting easier. Instead of the traditional gravity feed or starter box structure, this format focuses on quick, accessible drafting for players who want to jump into the action without complex setup.

Compatibility and the Dice Building Game Platform

This set is built on the proprietary Dice Building Game platform developed by Mike Elliott and Eric M. Lang. That means it shares core mechanics with other Dice Masters sets, so you can mix and match dice and cards from different expansions to build your team.

If you're new to Dice Masters, this set can serve as a good entry point because the new pack format simplifies the drafting process. However, you'll still need a starter set to get the basic rules and dice needed to play.
