Quick answer
Choose the Dominion Faction Pack if you want a full fleet starter with four pre-painted ships and a complete set of new cards. Pick the Reklar Expansion Pack if you need a single ship to fill a specific role or expand an existing Dominion or Cardassian fleet on a budget.
What's in each pack?
The Dominion Faction Pack includes four pre-painted plastic ships with bases, pegs, maneuver dials, cards, and token sheets. It's designed as a self-contained starting point for a Dominion or Cardassian fleet. The Reklar Expansion Pack contains a single pre-painted miniature with its base, peg, maneuver dial, cards, and tokens. It's meant to add one ship to an existing collection.
Value and cost difference
At $24.79 (down from $39.99), the Dominion Faction Pack gives you four ships for roughly $6.20 each. The Reklar Expansion Pack costs $9.59 (down from $14.99) for one ship. If you're starting fresh or want multiple ships, the faction pack offers better per-ship value. If you only need one specific ship, the expansion pack is the cheaper upfront option.
Key trade-offs at a glance
- Fleet size vs. single ship: Dominion Faction Pack gives you four ships; Reklar Expansion gives you one. Choose based on how many ships you need right now.
- Cost per ship: The faction pack costs about $6.20 per ship; the expansion pack costs $9.59 per ship. The faction pack is better value if you want multiple ships.
- New vs. supplementary cards: All cards and tokens in the Dominion Faction Pack are brand new, perfect for building a fresh faction. The Reklar Expansion adds to an existing set, so you need a core rule set to use it. Make sure you have the core rule set before buying the Reklar Expansion.
