Quick answer
The Elden Ring Rot & Sorcery Golden Pledge is the most comprehensive bundle available, combining two core boxes, an upgrade pack, and two expansions into a single all-in pre-order.
What makes this pledge different
Unlike standard Kickstarter pledges that offer a single core box with optional add-ons, the Golden Pledge bundles the Machinations of the Witch and Dominion of Rot core boxes together. This gives you access to both the sorcery-focused and rot-themed content from the start, without needing to choose or buy separately later.
The bundle also includes the Limgrave Upgrade Pack, which expands the starting area, and the Altus Plateau Expansion, which adds a new region to explore. The Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy Expansion is included as well, offering a dedicated boss encounter.
Trade-offs to consider
The main trade-off is the price. At USD 527.99, this is a significant investment compared to buying just one core box. You are paying for the convenience of having everything in one shipment, but if you only plan to play casually or with a small group, a single core box may be enough.
Delivery is expected in 2027, so this is a long-term commitment. If you prefer to play sooner, you might look for a base game that is already available.
Decision rules
- Check your play group size: The game supports 1 to 4 players. If you regularly play with 3-4 people, the extra content from two core boxes provides more variety. For solo or duo play, a single core box may suffice. Larger groups benefit more from the expanded content.
- Consider your budget and timeline: At USD 527.99 (catalog price USD 799.99), the Golden Pledge offers a discount versus buying separately, but it is a large upfront cost. Delivery is expected in 2027, so plan accordingly. Only commit if you are comfortable with the wait and the investment.
- Evaluate your interest in both themes: The bundle covers sorcery (Machinations of the Witch) and rot (Dominion of Rot) themes. If you are only interested in one, a single core box pledge might be a better fit. Choose the all-in bundle only if you want both thematic experiences.
