Quick Answer
The Elder Scrolls Heroes of Tamriel All-In Gameplay Bundle delivers the complete Chip Theory Games experience with eight expansions, but its size and price mean it's best for dedicated fans of the video game or heavy campaign board games.
What You Get in the All-In Bundle
This retail pre-order edition bundles the core game with seven expansions: Valenwood, Summerset, Elsweyr, Heroes of Tamriel, Fur and Fang, Shadows of Oblivion, and Cheeses of Tamriel. That's a huge amount of content, covering multiple regions and factions from the video game.
The bundle is designed for 1 to 4 players, with a reported BoardGameGeek rating of 9.67 based on early previews. That score reflects strong initial reception, but it's from a small sample before wide release.
Retail vs. Kickstarter: What's Different?
This is the retail edition, meaning it will be available through standard game stores after the Kickstarter backers receive their copies. The contents are identical to the all-in pledge from the campaign, so you aren't missing any gameplay content.
The trade-off is that you pay the retail markup. The catalog price is USD 340.79, compared to a USD 479.99 comparison price that likely reflects the combined MSRP of the individual boxes. You save about 30% buying the bundle, but you still pay more than a Kickstarter backer would have.
Decision Rules: Is This Bundle for You?
- Play Style: This is a campaign-driven, narrative board game with significant table presence and playtime. If you prefer quick, light games or competitive play, the all-in bundle may be overkill.
- Player Count: The game supports 1 to 4 players. Solo players get full access to the campaign. Groups of 3-4 will have the most varied experience, but the game scales well.
- Investment Level: At USD 340.79, this is a premium purchase. You're paying for a complete collection, not a trial. If you're unsure about the system, consider starting with just the core game (if sold separately later). Check if the core game will be available alone after the pre-order window closes.
