Tracker compatibility is the deciding factor
The most important difference between these two Fi collar bands is which Fi GPS tracker they fit. The Series 1 & 2 band is made exclusively for older Fi models, while the Series 3/3+ band matches the updated tracker design. Using the wrong band means the tracker won't seat securely.
Both bands are built with the same heavy-duty materials Tactipup is known for, so you're not sacrificing durability when choosing either version. The real trade-off is simply which Fi generation you own.
Price difference reflects tracker generation, not quality
The Series 3/3+ band is priced higher than the Series 1 & 2 band. This isn't because one is better built—both use the same extreme-duty construction. The price difference reflects the newer tracker's design and the band's specific molding to fit it securely.
If you're on a tighter budget and own a Series 1 or 2 tracker, the lower price of that band is a nice bonus. But if you upgrade your Fi tracker in the future, you'll need the corresponding band.
