Quick answer
If you want a horror centerpiece with a matching glow pin, go for the Pennywise set. If you prefer a Disney collectible with event exclusivity, choose the Genie D23 Expo Artist Proof.
Why limited edition numbers matter
Both FiGPiN XLs are limited to 500 units worldwide. That low run size means they are unlikely to restock, and prices on the secondary market can climb after sellout. If you see one at retail, it is worth considering quickly.
Glow effects and display differences
The Genie FiGPiN XL features a glow-in-the-dark effect on the pin itself, making it stand out in a dark room. The Pennywise set includes a separate glow-in-the-dark FiGPiN (LX32) alongside the XL pin, giving you two pieces to display together. Both glow, but the Pennywise set offers a coordinated pair.
Exclusivity and event context
The Genie is an Artist Proof from the D23 Expo 2024, which adds a layer of event-specific rarity. The Pennywise set is a general limited edition without a convention tie-in. If you collect convention exclusives, the Genie has that edge.
Decision rules for choosing your FiGPiN XL
- Choose the Genie if you value event exclusivity: The D23 Expo 2024 Artist Proof status makes this a conversation piece for Disney collectors. It comes with a matching logo pin. Check if the seller provides the original packaging to confirm the Artist Proof marking.
- Choose the Pennywise set if you want a coordinated pair: The XL pin plus a separate glow FiGPiN means you can display both together or trade/sell the glow pin separately. Verify both pins are included before buying secondhand.
- Check the price against retail: The Genie has a catalog comparison price of $134.99 (sold at $83.69), while Pennywise compares at $50.99 (sold at $32.12). If you see them near those comparison prices, they are likely fair. For the Genie, a price above $100 may still be reasonable due to its rarity; for Pennywise, try to stay under $50.
