Quick Answer
A wobbly kickstand on your Steam Deck Unicorn Beetle PRO case is usually caused by debris under the kickstand hinge, an uneven surface, or improper assembly. Here's how to diagnose and fix it.
Why Your Kickstand Might Be Wobbly
The integrated kickstand on the SUPCASE Unicorn Beetle PRO Rugged Kickstand Case is designed for convenient hands-free viewing, but a few common issues can cause instability. Debris like dust or small particles can get lodged in the hinge, preventing the kickstand from locking fully. An uneven table or a soft surface like a bed can make the entire setup wobble. Finally, if the case wasn't assembled correctly around the Steam Deck, the kickstand might not sit flush against the device.
Diagnosis: Step-by-Step Fix
- 1. Check the Surface: Place your Steam Deck on a flat, hard surface like a table or a tabletop. If the wobble disappears, the problem is the surface is uneven or soft. Use a harder mat or a table. If still wobbly, proceed.
- 2. Inspect the Hinge: Look at the kickstand hinge with a flashlight. Look for visible debris, dust or small particles caught in the hinge area, use compressed air to remove any debris. If the hinge is clean, proceed.
- 3. Check Case Assembly: Remove the Steam Deck from the case, ensure the kickstand is fully extended and unlocked. If the kickstand is fully extended, reinstall the case per the instructions. If the kickstand is not fully extended, the kickstand is not fully extended, then the kickstand is not fully extended, then the kickstand is not fully extended.
