Quick Answer

Always lock the tower fully open, place it on a flat surface, and supervise your child closely. Check for stability before each use.

Why Safety Matters with Foldable Towers

Foldable kitchen towers offer great space-saving convenience, but their folding mechanism means extra attention to stability is needed. Unlike fixed towers, the hinges and locking system must be checked every time you set it up.

The Foldable Kitchen Tower from Woodandhearts is designed for kids from 8 months to 4 years old, so the age range is wide. A younger toddler may need more support, while an older child might be more active on the platform.

Step-by-Step Safety Checklist

  1. 1. Inspect the Locking Mechanism: Before each use, ensure the foldable kitchen tower is fully opened and all locks are engaged. Give the tower a gentle shake to confirm it doesn't wobble or fold. Common mistake: assuming it's locked without checking. Always verify.
  2. 2. Place on a Flat, Non-Slip Surface: Set the tower on a level floor away from rugs or uneven tiles. A stable base prevents tipping when your child climbs on or moves around. Check that all four feet contact the floor evenly.
  3. 3. Supervise at All Times: Stay within arm's reach while your child uses the tower. Even a stable tower can tip if a child leans too far or climbs improperly. Never leave the room, even for a moment.
  4. 4. Teach Proper Climbing and Standing: Show your child to step onto the platform from the front, facing the counter. Discourage bouncing, leaning sideways, or standing on tiptoes. Reinforce this rule every time to build safe habits.
  5. 5. Adjust for Your Child's Size: The Foldable Kitchen Tower is suitable from 8 months to 4 years. For younger toddlers, consider adding a non-slip mat on the platform for extra grip. As your child grows, reassess the height and stability needs.
