Quick answer

Choose Funko Proto if you value raw sculpting and high-end rarity; choose Thrilljoy PIX! if you want a more affordable, stylized exclusive with chase potential.

What makes each line unique

Funko Proto figures are unpainted prototypes that highlight the sculpting process. They are produced in very limited quantities and often command high prices. Thrilljoy PIX! figures are fully painted, stylized vinyls with a distinct aesthetic, and exclusives like the Hot Topic Blitzo add a layer of rarity without the four-figure price tag.

Price and rarity trade-offs

Funko Proto figures are premium investments. For example, the Kaiju No. 8 Uncontrolled Prototype has a catalog price of $620, reflecting its low edition size and collector status. Thrilljoy PIX! exclusives, such as the Blitzo from Helluva Boss, are priced at $14.60 and come in an edition of 7,500, making them accessible while still offering a chase variant for dedicated fans.

Trade-offs at a glance

  • Funko Proto (e.g., Kaiju No. 8): Unpainted, limited-run prototype. High cost ($620) but offers a unique look at the figure's raw design. Best for investors and sculpture enthusiasts. Only buy if you're comfortable with a significant upfront cost and want a conversation piece.
