Quick answer

If you want a complete starting force with multiple units and a discount, pre-order the Deluxe Set 02. If you already have a core set and need to add specific mobile suits or expand your roster, the Expansion Pack 07 is the more focused buy.

What each product contains

The Deluxe Set 02 (DX02) bundles multiple miniatures and accessories into one box, giving you a ready-to-play force. The Expansion Pack 07 (EX07) adds a smaller selection of units designed to supplement an existing collection. Neither set includes dice, rulers, or rulebooks—those come in the core starter sets.

Pricing and value trade-off

At a catalog price of USD 107.10 (compared to USD 170.00), the Deluxe Set offers a substantial discount per miniature. The Expansion Pack costs USD 26.40 (compared to USD 40.00), which is cheaper upfront but gives you fewer pieces. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize volume or targeted additions.

Release timing considerations

The Deluxe Set 02 is expected in Japan by December 2026, with US availability from January to March 2027. The Expansion Pack 07 ships a month later in Japan (January 2027) and arrives in the US between February and April 2027. If you want to play sooner, the Deluxe Set arrives slightly earlier. Remember that all pre-order items ship together, so mixing them with other pre-orders may delay your entire order.

Trade-offs at a glance

  • Content volume: Deluxe Set gives you many miniatures and accessories; Expansion Pack provides a focused handful. Choose Deluxe for a complete force; choose Expansion to supplement an existing collection.
  • Cost per model: Deluxe Set offers better value per miniature due to bundle pricing. Expansion Pack costs less total but more per unit.
  • Release window: Deluxe Set arrives 1-2 months earlier than the Expansion Pack. Both are pre-order items that ship together with other pre-orders. If you want to play as early as possible, the Deluxe Set is the faster option.
