If you're a Haikyuu!! fan, you know the struggle of choosing which merchandise to collect. The Petit Norimasu series has captured hearts with its chibi-style figures that balance on a small base, mimicking the iconic 'norimasu' (riding) pose. The Vol.1 Second Uniform Ver. brings your favorite Karasuno players in their stylish second uniforms, and it's a must-have for any collector.
In this review, we'll dive into the details of these mini figures, compare them to other Haikyuu merchandise, and share practical display tips to make your collection stand out. Whether you're a seasoned collector or new to the world of Haikyuu figures, this guide will help you appreciate the charm of Petit Norimasu.
What is the Haikyuu!! Petit Norimasu Series?
The Petit Norimasu series is a collection of small, chibi-style figures that feature characters sitting or 'riding' on a small platform. The name 'Norimasu' comes from the Japanese verb 'noru' (to ride), and these figures often depict characters in dynamic poses that look like they're about to jump into action. The Vol.1 Second Uniform Ver. specifically showcases the Karasuno team in their navy and white second uniforms, which are worn during official matches.
This series is perfect for fans who love detailed yet compact figures. Each figure stands about 5-6 cm tall, making them ideal for desk displays or shelf arrangements. The sculpting is surprisingly detailed for the size, with accurate facial expressions and uniform details that capture the essence of each character.
- Compact size: 5-6 cm tall, perfect for small spaces
- Chibi style: Adorable proportions that appeal to all ages
- Second uniform: Features the iconic navy and white match uniforms
Unboxing and Packaging
The Petit Norimasu figures come in a blind box format, which means you don't know which character you'll get until you open it. The packaging is simple yet sturdy, with a clear plastic window that shows the figure inside. Each box includes the figure, a small base, and a piece of gum (a common feature in Japanese capsule toys). The gum is a nice nostalgic touch, though it's not the main attraction.
The figure itself is pre-assembled, so you can display it right out of the box. The base is designed to hold the figure securely, and the 'riding' pose is achieved by having the character sit on a small raised platform. The quality of the paint application is impressive, with no noticeable smudges or misalignments.
- Blind box format adds excitement to collecting
- Includes gum as a nostalgic bonus
- Pre-assembled and ready to display
Character Selection and Design
Vol.1 Second Uniform Ver. includes a lineup of popular Karasuno players: Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, and Nishinoya. Each character is depicted in a dynamic pose that reflects their personality. Hinata is shown mid-jump, Kageyama with a focused setter pose, Tsukishima with his signature smirk, Yamaguchi with his timid yet determined expression, and Nishinoya in a defensive stance.
The chibi proportions exaggerate the characters' features, making them even more endearing. The second uniforms are accurately colored, with the navy blue and white details standing out. The faces are particularly well-done, capturing the essence of each character even in miniature form.
- Five characters: Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi, Nishinoya
- Dynamic poses reflect each character's role
- Accurate uniform colors and details
Comparison with Other Haikyuu Figures
When compared to larger scale figures like the Banpresto or Ichiban Kuji releases, the Petit Norimasu series offers a more affordable and space-saving option. While the detail level is not as high as a 1/8 scale figure, the charm of the chibi style makes up for it. For example, the Banpresto - My Hero Academia The Amazing Heroes Plus Vol.7 Denki Figure is a similar size but focuses on a different series. Haikyuu fans will appreciate the unique 'riding' pose that sets Petit Norimasu apart from standard standing figures.

If you're looking to expand your Haikyuu collection, Petit Norimasu pairs well with other mini figure lines or can be a standalone display. The compact size makes it easy to mix and match with other series, creating a diverse collection without taking up too much space.
- Affordable alternative to large scale figures
- Unique 'riding' pose differentiates from standard figures
- Easy to mix with other mini figure collections
Display Tips for Your Petit Norimasu Collection
Displaying your Petit Norimasu figures can be a fun creative project. Here are some tips to make them stand out: Use a tiered shelf to display multiple figures at different heights, creating a dynamic scene. Place them near a window for natural light, which will highlight the paint details. Consider adding a themed background, like a volleyball court print, to enhance the sports vibe.
You can also incorporate other Haikyuu merchandise to create a themed display. For instance, pairing the figures with a Haikyuu-themed backpack or accessory can add a personal touch. The Little Prince Dream Odyssey Collection Backpack is a great example of a non-Haikyuu item that can add a whimsical element to your display.
