Quick answer
If you already own the base Haunted Mouse game, the promo cards and extras add variety without changing core rules. Focus on the Roquefort Mouse Plush if you want a tactile upgrade; stick to promo cards for gameplay tweaks.
What the Promos and Extras Actually Do
Haunted Mouse promos are individual promo cards that introduce new actions or interactions. They don't expand the board or add new player roles—they slot into existing decks. Extras like the Roquefort Mouse Plush are purely cosmetic collectibles. Expansions (note the intentional spelling) typically add new modules or scenarios, but in this line they are limited to promo cards sold separately.
Trade-Offs to Consider
Individual promo cards are inexpensive (around $6.37 each), but shipping without tracking for single orders means a small risk of loss. International customers are limited to two promo cards per order to keep shipping low. If you want the full set of promos, buying them together in a bundle (if available) may save on shipping and ensure tracking.
Decision Rules for Haunted Mouse Add-Ons
- You want gameplay variety: Buy individual promo cards. They introduce new abilities or events without changing the core game. Choose based on the card description.
- You want a collectible or gift: Get the Roquefort Mouse Plush. It has no gameplay function but looks great on a shelf. Check the plush dimensions before ordering if display space is limited.
- You are an international buyer: Limit your order to two individual promo cards per shipment to keep shipping costs low. If you need more, place separate orders or look for a bundle. Ordering three or more promo cards may trigger higher shipping rates without tracking.
