Steps to attach the waistbelt extender
- Locate the waistbelt buckle: Unbuckle the main waistbelt of your Ergobaby carrier. You'll see the male and female buckle ends on each side of the belt. Make sure the belt is fully unbuckled before attaching the extender.
- Attach the extender to the female buckle: Take the waistbelt extender and connect its male end to the female buckle on the carrier's waistbelt. Push until you hear a click. A common mistake is attaching it backwards—the extender's male end must go into the carrier's female buckle.
- Buckle the carrier's male end into the extender: Now take the male buckle from the other side of the carrier's waistbelt and insert it into the female end of the extender. Click to secure. Double-check that both connections are fully clicked. A loose connection can compromise safety.
- Adjust and test the fit: Tighten the waistbelt as usual. The extender should sit at the side of your hip, not directly on your belly or back. Walk around to ensure even weight distribution. If the extender feels twisted or causes the carrier to sit unevenly, reattach it and adjust the belt tension.
