Quick answer

Clean your Pop pacifier with warm soapy water daily, and sterilize weekly by boiling or using a dishwasher. The self-closing design reduces how often you need to wash it.

Why the Pop design needs less washing

The Pop pacifier’s nipple pops back into a protective bubble when it falls, so it stays cleaner longer. This means you can wash it just a few times a day instead of after every drop. The nipple also stays extended while baby uses it, reducing the need to touch the nipple during reinsertion.

How to clean and sterilize your Pop pacifier

  1. Daily rinse and wash: Rinse the pacifier under warm running water. Use a mild dish soap and a clean sponge to gently clean all surfaces, including the nipple and the bubble. Avoid abrasive scrubbers. Don’t let soap residue dry on the pacifier; rinse thoroughly.
  2. Weekly sterilization (boiling method): Place the pacifier in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. Use tongs to remove it and let it air dry on a clean towel. Boiling longer than 5 minutes can damage the silicone.
  3. Weekly sterilization (dishwasher method): Place the pacifier in the top rack of the dishwasher. Run a hot-water cycle with heated drying. Remove once the cycle ends. Make sure the pacifier doesn’t touch the heating element at the bottom.
  4. Inspect and replace: Check the pacifier for cracks, tears, or sticky spots. Replace it immediately if you see any damage. A damaged pacifier is a choking hazard and should not be used.
