Quick answer
Apply latex gels in this order: first the Easy Glide Gel to help you dress, then the Perfect Shine Gel for gloss, and finally the Storage Protection Gel before putting the item away.
Why the order matters
Each gel has a specific job. Using them out of sequence can trap powder, dull the finish, or leave a sticky residue. The glide gel goes on the inside; the shine gel and storage gel go on the outside. Never mix them on the same surface without cleaning in between.
Step-by-step latex gel routine
- Clean and dry the latex: Wash the garment with mild soap and lukewarm water, rinse thoroughly, and pat dry with a lint-free towel. Let it air dry completely. Any moisture will prevent the gels from working properly. Never apply gel to damp latex – it won't spread evenly and may trap moisture.
- Apply Easy Glide Gel to the inside: Pour a small amount of BeGloss Easy Glide Gel into the interior of the garment. Spread it evenly with your hands or a soft cloth. This reduces friction so the latex slides on without pulling or bunching. Too much gel makes the inside slippery and hard to grip – a thin, even layer is enough.
- Dress and apply Perfect Shine Gel to the outside: Once the garment is on, apply BeGloss Perfect Shine Gel to the exterior. Use a cloth to buff it into the surface in smooth, circular motions. This removes the factory powder and gives the latex its characteristic gloss. Skip this step if you prefer a matte look, but be aware that unshined latex may still feel slightly powdery.
- After wear, clean again and apply Storage Protection Gel: Remove the garment, wash and dry it as in step 1. Then spray BeGloss Storage Protection Gel over the entire outside surface and spread it with a cloth. This creates a barrier that prevents the latex from sticking to itself or other items in storage. Do not skip the cleaning step before storage – leftover body oils or gel residues can degrade the latex over time.
- Store in a dark, dry place: Fold or hang the latex loosely (avoid sharp creases) and place it in a sealed bag or container away from direct light and heat. The storage gel will keep the surface flexible and non-stick for months. Never store latex in direct sunlight or near a radiator – UV and heat cause irreversible hardening.
