Quick answer
Clean your rainbow gemstone metal anal plug set with warm water and mild soap after each use, then sterilize occasionally with boiling water or a 70% isopropyl alcohol wipe. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and other toys to prevent scratches.
Why metal plugs need special care
Metal anal plugs are non-porous, making them easier to clean than silicone or rubber toys, but the rainbow gemstone finish can scratch if stored improperly. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could damage the coating.
The three sizes in this set mean you'll likely use one plug at a time. Always clean the plug you used immediately after removal, and store the others separately to avoid cross-contamination.
Step-by-step cleaning and storage guide
- Rinse immediately after use: Run the plug under warm (not hot) water to remove any lubricant or residue. Use a mild, fragrance-free soap or a dedicated toy cleaner. Avoid harsh detergents that could dull the rainbow finish. Clean within 10–15 minutes of use to prevent residue from drying on the metal surface.
- Sterilize weekly or after shared use: Boil the plug in water for 3–5 minutes, or wipe it down with 70% isopropyl alcohol (allow to air dry). Do not use bleach or abrasive chemicals. Metal handles high heat well, but check that any gemstone inlays are heat-resistant. Boiling is safe for solid metal plugs; avoid it if the plug has glued-on decorations.
- Dry thoroughly before storage: Pat the plug dry with a lint-free cloth or let it air dry on a clean towel. Moisture trapped in storage can lead to tarnishing or bacterial growth. Never store the plug while it is still damp.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from other toys: Place each plug in its own cotton pouch or the original packaging. Avoid storing metal plugs directly against silicone toys, as prolonged contact can cause staining or material transfer. Separating plugs by size in individual pouches prevents scratches and keeps the set organized.
