Quick answer
Spot-clean the fabric seat pad and wipe the plastic frame with a damp cloth. Never submerge the electronic base or use harsh cleaners.
Why regular cleaning matters
Spit-up, drool, and crumbs collect fast in a rocking seat, especially one with a plush pad and multiple speeds. A quick weekly wipe keeps the fabric fresh and the mechanism free of sticky buildup that could affect motion.
What not to do
The Keep InMotion seat has an electronic base with a motor and battery compartment. Never spray liquid directly onto the seat, pour water over the frame, or use bleach, alcohol, or abrasive scrubbers. These can damage the fabric, fade the Soulful Skies pattern, or short the electronics.
Cleaning diagnosis guide
- Symptom: Fabric pad looks stained or smells after a few days of use.
- Likely cause: Spit-up, drool, or food residue soaked into the pad. The pad is not machine-washable, so spot-cleaning is the only safe method.
- Corrective action: Remove the pad (unclip or unstrap it). Blot the stain with a cloth dampened in mild soap and water, then rinse with a cloth dampened in plain water. Air-dry completely before reattaching. Never wring or twist the pad. Let it dry flat away from direct heat.
- Stop or choose another option: If the stain does not lift with gentle spot-cleaning, do not use stain removers or bleach. The pad fabric may discolor or weaken. Consider replacing the seat pad if the odor or stain persists after two attempts. For spills that reach the plastic shell under the pad, wipe the shell with a damp cloth and dry it thoroughly before putting the pad back.
