Quick Answer

A 2 to 1 point triglide lets you switch your two-point sling to a single-point configuration on the fly, giving you better weapon maneuverability without swapping hardware.

Why Use a 2 to 1 Point Triglide?

Standard two-point slings provide stability for carrying and shooting, but they limit mobility when you need to transition between shoulders or work in tight spaces. A 2 to 1 point triglide solves this by letting you switch to a single-point setup instantly, without removing the sling or adding extra gear.

The trade-off is that single-point mode offers less stability for long carries or precision shooting. That is why the triglide is designed for rapid conversion—you can go back to two-point when you need extra control.

What You Need

You need a compatible two-point sling with a rear plastic triglide, like the Ferro Concepts Slingster, and a 2 to 1 point triglide. The triglide replaces the existing rear triglide and works with QD swivels or a steel sling hook.

How to Set Up and Use the 2 to 1 Point Triglide

  1. 1. Remove the Rear Plastic Triglide: Unthread your sling webbing from the existing plastic triglide at the rear of the sling. Slide it off completely. Keep the old triglide as a spare in case you want to revert to a standard two-point setup.
  2. 2. Install the 2 to 1 Point Triglide: Thread the sling webbing through the 2 to 1 point triglide the same way the original was routed. Make sure the metal ring faces the rear of the sling. Double-check the webbing is not twisted before tightening—twisted webbing reduces smooth adjustment.
  3. 3. Attach a QD Swivel or Steel Hook: Clip your preferred attachment (QD swivel or steel sling hook) into the metal ring of the triglide. This becomes your single-point attachment point. Use a QD swivel for quick detachment; use a steel hook for a more permanent connection.
  4. 4. Convert to Single-Point Mode: Unclip the front sling attachment from your rifle and clip the triglide's attachment point directly to the rear sling mount. Your sling now functions as a single-point setup. Common mistake: forgetting to secure the front attachment point. Always stow it or clip it to the sling to prevent dangling.
  5. 5. Switch Back to Two-Point Mode: Reattach the front sling mount to its original position on the rifle. The triglide stays in place, so you can convert again anytime without rethreading. Practice the conversion dry a few times at home before using it in the field to build muscle memory.
