Quick answer

Slide a fresh disposable sleeve over your Lansinoh therapy pack before each use, then heat or cool the pack as directed. After use, peel off the sleeve and toss it—no washing needed.

Why use disposable sleeves?

Disposable sleeves keep the therapy pack clean and reduce the risk of transferring milk, blood, or lotion between uses. They are especially helpful during the early postpartum weeks when you are changing pads, applying nipple cream, or using perineal sprays.

The sleeves are designed as a refill for the Lansinoh Hot & Cold Postpartum Therapy Pack system. Each sleeve is single-use, so you always start with a fresh, hygienic surface against your skin or clothing.

When to replace a sleeve

Replace the sleeve after every use. If the sleeve tears, becomes stained, or touches a soiled surface, swap it out immediately. Reusing a sleeve defeats the hygiene purpose and can introduce bacteria to the therapy pack.

How to use disposable sleeves with therapy packs

  1. Step 1: Prepare the therapy pack: Take your Lansinoh Hot & Cold Postpartum Therapy Pack out of the freezer or microwave. Let it sit for 30 seconds to reach a comfortable temperature before handling. Do not force a frozen pack into a sleeve—it can tear the material. Let it soften slightly first.
  2. Step 2: Slide on a fresh sleeve: Open one disposable sleeve from the refill pack. Hold the therapy pack by its edge and slide the sleeve over it, making sure the pack sits fully inside the sleeve pocket. Check that the sleeve is not twisted or bunched. A smooth fit ensures even heat or cold transfer.
  3. Step 3: Apply the pack: Place the sleeved therapy pack on the area you want to treat—breast, perineum, or abdomen. Secure it with a nursing bra or loose clothing if needed. Never place the pack directly on broken skin. The sleeve provides a barrier, but if you have open wounds, place a clean cloth between the sleeve and your skin.
  4. Step 4: Remove and discard the sleeve: After 15–20 minutes of use, take off the therapy pack. Peel the disposable sleeve away from the pack and throw it in the trash. Do not flush the sleeve down the toilet. It is designed for trash disposal only.
  5. Step 5: Store the pack for next use: Wipe the therapy pack with a damp cloth if it feels sticky, then return it to the freezer or a dry storage area. Do not wash the pack with soap or submerge it in water. Always store the pack without a sleeve on it. Sleeves are for single use only and should not be left on the pack during storage.
