Quick Answer
To use the Wispwood Promo Bundle, replace the standard player cats with the alternate set and add the extra scoring card to your scoring deck before starting a game. This refreshes the visual experience without changing the core rules.
Why the Alternate Cats Matter
The Wispwood Promo Bundle includes an alternate set of 6 player cats with unique artwork. While the gameplay remains identical, the new art can help distinguish players more easily, especially in low-light settings or for color-blind players, as the different illustrations provide an extra visual cue beyond color.
Scoring Card Integration
The bundle also adds an extra scoring card for Wispwood. This card is not a replacement but an addition to your existing scoring deck. You can shuffle it in for variety or use it as a tie-breaker. If you prefer a standard game, simply set it aside.
Steps to Integrate the Wispwood Promo Bundle
- Replace the player cats: Take the 6 alternate player cats from the bundle and replace the standard cats in the game box. Use them as you would the originals during setup. Check that each player gets a unique cat; if you have more than 6 players, keep the originals for the extras.
- Add the extra scoring card: Shuffle the additional scoring card into the existing scoring deck. If you prefer a classic experience, leave it out and store it with the bundle. Decide before the game whether to include the extra card to avoid mid-game confusion.
- Explain the changes to players: Before starting, let everyone know that you're using the promo bundle. Point out that the cats have new art but the same abilities, and that the scoring card is an addition, not a rule change. A quick explanation prevents players from searching for differences that don't exist.
