If you’re a One Piece fan, you’ve probably heard of Ichiban Kuji – the popular lottery-style merchandise series from Banpresto. Each release features a lineup of exclusive prizes, from high-quality figures to practical goods, and the latest installment, The Flames of Revolution, is no exception. This set captures the fiery spirit of the series with a focus on iconic characters in dynamic poses.
In this review, we’ll break down every prize tier, highlight the must-have items, and give you our honest take on the overall value. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or new to kuji, this guide will help you decide if this release is worth your time and money.
What is Ichiban Kuji?
Ichiban Kuji is a popular lottery system in Japan where you purchase a ticket (or 'kuji') for a random chance to win one of the prizes. Each ticket guarantees a prize, with rarer items assigned to higher tiers. The thrill of the draw, combined with exclusive designs, makes it a favorite among collectors.
The Flames of Revolution is one of the latest One Piece themed kuji releases. It features a mix of figures, plushies, and everyday items, all themed around the Revolutionary Army and the fiery battles that define the arc. As with most kuji, the lineup is designed to appeal to both hardcore fans and casual collectors.
- Tickets are typically priced affordably, making it accessible for most fans.
- Each prize tier has a specific rarity, with the Last Prize being the most coveted.
Prize Breakdown: A to Last Prize
The Flames of Revolution includes several prize tiers, each with its own unique items. Here’s a quick overview of what you can expect:
A Prize: The headline figure, often a detailed portrayal of a main character. For this kuji, the A Prize is a striking figure of Luffy in his Gear Fifth form, radiating the fiery energy of the revolution. B Prize: Another high-quality figure, typically of a different character or a variant. This release features a Sabo figure with his flame powers on full display. C Prize: A plushie or smaller figure, perfect for those who prefer softer merchandise. D Prize: A practical item like a mug or towel, often featuring character art. E Prize: A set of clear files or postcards, ideal for collecting. F Prize: A rubber strap or keychain, great for everyday use. Last Prize: The ultimate prize – a special variant of the A Prize figure, often with a different color scheme or extra accessories. This one is a glowing Luffy figure that stands out on any shelf.
- The Last Prize is exclusive to the kuji and cannot be bought separately.
- Some kuji also include a 'Double Chance' campaign, where you can enter a lottery for a chance to win the Last Prize again.
Highlights and Must-Have Items
Among the prizes, the A Prize Luffy figure is the obvious standout. Its dynamic pose and detailed sculpt capture the intensity of the revolution, making it a centerpiece for any collection. The B Prize Sabo figure is equally impressive, with flame effects that add a sense of motion.
For those who prefer smaller items, the rubber straps are a fun way to show off your fandom. They feature chibi versions of the characters, perfect for attaching to bags or keys. The clear files are also a nice addition, offering beautiful artwork that you can display or use.
If you’re looking to expand your collection with other high-quality figures, consider checking out the Banpresto Bleach Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez Maximatic Figure or the Banpresto Naruto Shippuden Vibration Stars Special A: Sasori Figure. These are excellent examples of Banpresto’s craftsmanship and would complement any anime figure collection.
- Keep an eye out for the Last Prize – it’s the most valuable and sought-after item.
- If you’re after a specific prize, consider trading with other collectors to complete your set.
Value and Collectibility
One of the main appeals of Ichiban Kuji is the potential value. While the cost of a ticket is relatively low, the prizes, especially the figures, can be worth significantly more on the secondary market. The Flames of Revolution is no exception, with the A Prize and Last Prize figures often selling for several times the ticket price.
However, the random nature of the draw means you might not get the prize you want. That’s part of the fun, but it can also be a gamble. If you’re looking for a guaranteed item, you might prefer to purchase the prize directly from a reseller, though you’ll likely pay a premium.
For those who enjoy the thrill, we recommend participating in a kuji draw. Many online stores, including Otaku House, offer kuji pulls where you can try your luck from the comfort of your home. For example, the Kuji - Yuru Camp Mini Kuji [2 Pulls] is a great way to experience the excitement with a lower price point.

- Check the odds before buying – some prizes have better chances than others.
- Consider joining a group buy to increase your chances of getting the prize you want.
