Quick Answer
The OtterBox Alpha Glass screen protector is a solid choice for both iPhone XR and iPhone 11, offering tempered glass protection with easy installation. Follow the included alignment tray and simple care steps to keep it bubble-free and durable.
Why Alpha Glass Stands Out
Alpha Glass is designed to handle everyday drops and scratches, with a tempered glass build that absorbs impact. It also has an oleophobic coating that resists fingerprints, keeping your screen cleaner for longer.
Unlike some protectors that leave gaps along the edges, Alpha Glass offers edge-to-edge coverage, so your display stays fully guarded without compromising touch sensitivity.
Trade-offs to Consider
While Alpha Glass is tough, it is not shatterproof. Under extreme impact, the glass may crack, but it is designed to contain the damage and protect your phone's screen.
The oleophobic coating can wear off over time with heavy use, which may reduce its smudge resistance. Applying a new protector when this happens is a simple fix.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Alpha Glass fit both iPhone XR and iPhone 11?
Yes, the Alpha Glass screen protector is designed to fit both iPhone XR and iPhone 11, as they share the same screen dimensions and cutouts.
How do I install it without bubbles?
Clean your screen thoroughly with the included wipe, align the protector using the tray, and press from the center outward to push out air bubbles. If bubbles remain, gently lift the edge and reapply.
Will it work with a case?
Yes, the Alpha Glass is designed to be case-friendly, so it won't lift when used with most OtterBox cases. Check for case compatibility if you use a third-party case.
How durable is it?
It's made of tempered glass that absorbs impact from drops and scratches, but it can crack under severe force. The protector is designed to break instead of your screen. Replace it if you notice cracks to maintain protection.
How do I care for it?
Clean it with a microfiber cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that can damage the oleophobic coating. Use a screen protector-friendly cleaner for best results.
