Quick answer
Yes, a certified refurbished Logitech keyboard can be an excellent buy—offering near-new performance at a lower price—provided you understand the trade-offs in packaging and warranty.
What makes a keyboard certified refurbished?
A certified refurbished Logitech keyboard has been returned, inspected, tested, and restored to full working condition by a professional refurbisher like Logitechmalls. The process typically includes cleaning, replacing any faulty parts, and verifying all keys and connections function correctly. This ensures the keyboard performs like new, though it may show minor cosmetic wear.
Key trade-offs to consider
The most obvious benefit is cost savings—often 20-30% off the original retail price. However, you won't get the same retail packaging or accessories (like a full manual or USB cable if not included). The warranty is also shorter, usually 90 days to 1 year, compared to a full new warranty. Additionally, availability may be limited to specific models or colors, and you might not find the very latest release.
Frequently asked questions
How much can I save with a certified refurbished Logitech keyboard?
Typically, you save 20-30% compared to the new retail price. For example, the Refurbished ERGO K860 is priced at USD 80.39 versus its catalog comparison price of USD 119.99, and the Refurbished MX Keys S for Mac is USD 76.95 versus USD 103.99.
Will the keyboard look and feel new?
It will perform like new, but there may be minor cosmetic signs of use, such as light scuffs or a slightly worn keycap. The unit is cleaned and tested, so it should feel crisp and responsive. If a pristine appearance is critical, consider buying new; otherwise, the functionality is identical.
What warranty do I get with a certified refurbished keyboard?
Most certified refurbished keyboards come with a 90-day to 1-year warranty from the refurbisher, which covers defects but not accidental damage. Check the specific listing for warranty details.
