Quick answer
For collectors seeking a standout Puerto Rican superhero figure, the La Borinqueña line offers three distinct options: Oro el Coqui Dorado, Luz La Luminosa, and the classic La Borinqueña. Your choice depends on whether you prioritize unique color schemes, character variety, or budget.
Why these figures stand out
Each La Borinqueña action figure is based on the comic series by Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, featuring Marisol, a STEM environmental major who gains superhuman strength, flight, and storm control from the goddess Atabex. The figures are 1:12 scale and highly articulated, allowing dynamic poses and play.
The three figures share the same core sculpt and articulation, but differ in paint and accessories. Oro el Coqui Dorado features a gold-and-green scheme inspired by the coquí frog, while Luz La Luminosa has a glowing, translucent look. The standard La Borinqueña figure offers the classic red, white, and blue costume.
Price and value considerations
Pricing varies across the line. La Borinqueña is the most affordable at $25.79, while Luz La Luminosa costs $30.52, and Oro el Coqui Dorado is $31.81. All are discounted from a $42.99 comparison price, making each a solid value for a premium 1:12 scale figure.
The price difference reflects the complexity of paint applications and any unique accessories. If you are on a tight budget, the standard figure delivers the same articulation and character design at a lower cost.
How to choose your La Borinqueña figure
