Quick answer
The World of Warcraft Lich King Mini Dice Cup comfortably holds a standard set of 7 polyhedral dice (d4 through d20) plus a few extra d6s, but it is too small for a full board game dice pool or oversized specialty dice.
Why capacity matters for your game night
A dice cup that’s too small can slow down rolling or force you to scoop multiple times. The Lich King Mini Dice Cup is designed as a collectible tabletop accessory, not a tournament-sized shaker, so knowing its limits helps you avoid frustration at the table.
If you primarily play role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons, the mini cup works well for your character’s dice set. For board games that require a large pool of d6s, you may want a standard cup instead.
Trade-off: collectible vs. everyday tool
This cup’s detailed Lich King design makes it a display piece as much as a gaming accessory. The sculpted crown and runes add visual weight but also reduce interior space compared to a plain cylindrical cup. Keep this in mind if you prioritize maximum dice capacity over aesthetics.
Diagnosis: does the Lich King Dice Cup work for you?
- Symptom: You try to fit 20+ dice into the cup and they spill over or won’t shake freely.
- Likely cause: The cup is labeled 'Mini' and has internal sculpting that reduces usable volume. It is designed for a typical RPG set of 7 polyhedral dice, not a large dice pool.
- Corrective action: Use the cup for your character’s personal dice (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20, percentile). For group rolls or games needing many d6s, switch to a standard cylindrical dice cup. If you only play RPGs with one dice set, the Lich King Mini Dice Cup is a perfect fit.
- Stop or choose another option: If you regularly need to roll more than 10 dice at once, or if you use oversized dice (larger than 16mm), this cup will feel cramped. Look for a larger, plain cup instead.

-
World of Warcraft Lich King Mini Dice Cup: Created in partnership with Dungeons & Dragons and World of Warcraft specifically for BlizzCon, this collectible tabletop accessory combines practical functionality with iconic Warcraft design. The collaboration ensures the cup fits standard RPG dice, but its mini size and sculpted details mean you should not expect it to hold a full board game set.
