Lockup Bundle: What's Inside and Is It Worth It?

Quick Answer

The Lockup Bundle (Convention) is a strong value if you want the complete Lockup experience in one box, saving 36% off individual prices. It's not ideal if you already own parts of the collection or prefer to buy only the base game.

What You Get in the Lockup Bundle

This bundle packages the Lockup base game with its Breakout expansion, the Plastic Crew Tiles, and the Kulbak Pack mini-expansion. All content currently available for Lockup is included, so there's no need to hunt down separate releases.

The base Lockup game is a worker placement title with bluffing, set collection, and resource management. The Breakout expansion adds new mechanics and player options, while the two smaller packs introduce additional crew abilities and a new character.

Value Breakdown

At a catalog price of $38.40 compared to a combined $60.00 if bought separately, you save $21.60 — a 36% discount. This is a genuine saving if you're starting from scratch, but the discount only applies to the full bundle, not individual components.

Potential Downsides

The bundle is labeled 'Convention,' which might imply limited availability or special packaging. If you already own the base game or any expansion, buying the bundle means paying for duplicates. Also, because it's a complete collection, there's no way to customize the contents.

Decision Rules for the Lockup Bundle

You want the complete Lockup experience: If you're new to Lockup and want all available content in one go, this bundle is the most efficient and cost-effective path.
You already own part of the collection: Check what you have. If you own the base game or any expansion, the bundle will include duplicates, reducing its value. Consider buying only the missing pieces individually instead.
You're on a tight budget: The $38.40 price is lower than buying everything separately, but it's still a single upfront cost. If you only want the base game, that may be a cheaper entry point. Compare the bundle price to the base game alone before committing.
You prefer physical retail availability: The bundle ships from Thunderworks Games. If you need it from a local store or prefer in-person pickup, check shipping options first.
