Quick answer
If you value a unique collectible with official artist branding, go with the Love In Las Vegas set. For a no-frills everyday deck, a standard $2 poker deck is more practical and replaceable.
Why the Love In Las Vegas deck stands out
The Love In Las Vegas Playing Cards are official John Legend merchandise from his 2022 Love In Las Vegas Residency. That makes them a deliberate souvenir, not just a tool for card games. The branded tuck box and card backs give it display value for fans or collectors.
Where a standard deck wins
A standard deck costs a fraction of the $7.30 price and is widely available at any drugstore. If you shuffle aggressively, lose cards, or spill drinks at game night, you can replace it without a second thought. The Love In Las Vegas deck is a limited collectible—once it's worn or damaged, finding another may not be easy.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Collectibility vs. disposability: The Love In Las Vegas deck is a limited-edition souvenir. A standard deck is cheap and easy to replace.
- Design vs. familiarity: The branded deck has unique artwork and a custom tuck box. A standard deck has the familiar Bicycle or Bee pattern that some card players prefer.
- Price vs. value: At $7.30 (compared to $10.00), the Love In Las Vegas deck is affordable for a collectible but costs more than a basic deck. You pay extra for the branding and exclusivity.
