Quick answer
Start with the TQA Full Set Bundle for the broadest base, then add themed expansions like Brands or Dares to tailor the game to your group's mood.
Why mixing expansions works
TQA expansions are designed to layer on top of the base game without breaking the flow. Each pack adds new prompts in a specific theme—like pop culture references or spicy dares—so you can swap them in and out depending on who's playing.
Know your group's comfort zone
Not every expansion suits every crowd. The Dares Expansion Pack leans into physical or silly challenges, while the Brands Expansion Pack focuses on recognizable logos and slogans. Mixing both can create a balanced deck that keeps everyone engaged without pushing boundaries too far.
How to mix and match TQA expansions
- 1. Start with the Full Set Bundle: Open the TQA Full Set Bundle and separate the Base Pack cards from the expansion packs. This gives you a complete foundation and all 12 expansions to choose from. Don't mix expansions into the base deck until you've sorted them—keeping them separate makes it easier to swap later.
- 2. Pick 2-3 expansions per round: Select expansions based on your group's interests. For a lighthearted round, combine Brands with a non-dare expansion. For a spicier round, swap in the Dares Expansion Pack. Avoid using all expansions at once; the deck becomes too large and rounds drag.
- 3. Shuffle and play one round: Combine the chosen expansions with the Base Pack, shuffle thoroughly, and play through a full round. Note which prompts land well and which fall flat. If a card feels out of place, remove that expansion for the next round—no need to reshuffle the entire deck.
- 4. Rotate expansions between rounds: After each round, swap out one expansion for another. This keeps the game fresh and lets you test all combinations over the evening. Set a timer or keep a rotation list so you don't forget which expansions you've already used.
- 5. Adjust based on player feedback: Ask players which expansions they enjoyed most. Use that feedback to build a custom deck for future game nights. Keep a small notebook or notes app handy to track winning combos—you'll save time next game night.
