Quick answer
Attach the MOD Plus Placard to your chest rig by weaving MOLLE straps through the rear channels, then secure rifle mag pouches and accessories on the front face for a modular, durable loadout.
Why the MOD Plus Placard works for chest rigs
The MOD Plus Placard is built from a single piece of nylon laminate with bonded bartacks, making it tough enough for daily training or field use. Its full MOLLE coverage on all exterior faces lets you attach pouches, admin panels, or a dangler without adding bulk.
Unlike older placards that limit placement, the MOD Plus uses standard MOLLE webbing on the rear so it fits most plate carriers and chest rigs. The trade-off is that the laminate construction is stiffer than soft nylon, so it takes a few wears to break in.
How to set up your MOD Plus Placard
- 1. Align the placard on your chest rig: Place the MOD Plus Placard so its rear MOLLE channels line up with the horizontal rows on your chest rig. Start from the top row and work downward to keep the placard level. A common mistake is starting from the bottom, which can cause the placard to sag. Always start at the top.
- 2. Weave the MOLLE straps through the channels: Thread each strap through the rear channel, then back through the next slot on the chest rig. Pull tight but avoid over-tightening—leave a little slack so the placard can flex with your movement. If the straps are too loose, the placard will shift during movement. Check tension after each strap.
- 3. Secure rifle mag pouches on the front face: Attach your preferred rifle mag pouches (e.g., triple 5.56 or 7.62) to the front MOLLE rows. Center the pouches for balanced weight distribution, and use the included retention bungees for a snug fit. Overloading one side can cause the placard to twist. Distribute weight evenly across the front panel.
- 4. Add secondary pouches or accessories: Use the remaining MOLLE rows to attach a radio pouch, admin pouch, or tourniquet holder. Keep high-use items accessible—avoid stacking pouches that block magazine draw. Blocking your mag draw with a pouch is a common error. Test your draw stroke before finalizing placement.
- 5. Test fit and adjust retention: Wear the chest rig and check that the placard sits flat against your body. Adjust the MOLLE strap tension if needed, and verify that all pouches are securely fastened. Perform a few dry reloads to confirm smooth access. A placard that shifts during reloads wastes time. Re-tighten any loose straps before field use.
