Quick Answer

Mystery Decks can be worth it if you enjoy surprises and collecting rare or unique playing cards. You get a mix of decks valued at more than the price, but you don't control which ones you receive.

The Trade-Off: Surprise vs. Control

The main appeal of Mystery Decks is the surprise factor. You pay a set price and receive a random assortment of playing cards, often including rare or exclusive editions. However, this means you have no control over which decks you get. If you're a collector with a specific wishlist, you might receive duplicates or decks you already own.

Who Should Consider Mystery Decks?

Mystery Decks are ideal for cardists and collectors who enjoy the thrill of unboxing and are open to expanding their collection with unexpected finds. They also make great gifts for fellow card enthusiasts. On the other hand, if you're looking for a specific deck to complete a collection, you're better off buying that deck directly.

Mystery Decks FAQ

What's inside a Mystery Deck?

Each Mystery Deck contains a random assortment of playing cards, drawn from a pool of different brands and editions, including rare and exclusive releases. The exact contents vary per purchase. Expect a surprise mix; check the product description for the list of possible decks.

How does the value compare to the price?

The catalog price for Mystery Decks is $39.60, compared to a comparison price of $60.00. This suggests you're getting more value than the price you pay, but the actual value depends on which decks you receive. If you're buying for value, consider the potential resale or collection worth of the decks you might get.

Are Mystery Decks worth it for collectors?

They can be worth it if you enjoy the surprise and are open to adding a variety of decks to your collection. However, if you're after a specific deck, you're better off purchasing that deck individually to avoid disappointment. Weigh the excitement of surprise against the risk of getting duplicates or less desired decks.
