Quick Answer
Choose the Super Deluxe slipcover if you want a softer, more plush feel and don't mind spending a bit more; choose the Original slipcover if you prefer a lighter, more affordable option and prioritize easy washing over extra cushioning.
Fabric and Feel: Plush vs Lightweight
The Super Deluxe slipcover is designed to feel plush and cozy, adding an extra layer of softness that many moms appreciate during long feeding sessions. The Original slipcover, in contrast, is more streamlined and lightweight, which some moms find easier to move around with or less warm in summer months.
Think about your climate and how you use the pillow. If you tend to run warm or live in a hot area, the lighter Original might feel more comfortable. If you want a soft, cushiony surface that feels like a small luxury, the Super Deluxe is the way to go.
Price and Value: What's the Real Difference?
The Original slipcover is priced at $16.24 (compared to $21.95), while the Super Deluxe costs $20.12 (compared to $27.95). That's a difference of about $4, which for many moms is a small price to pay for a noticeably softer feel.
But if you plan to buy multiple covers to rotate during laundry days, the Original's lower price makes it easier to stock up without breaking the bank. Consider how many covers you realistically need and weigh the upfront cost against the daily comfort.
Decision Rules for Choosing Your Slipcover
- If you want maximum softness: Choose the Super Deluxe slipcover. Its plush feel adds extra comfort during long feeds, and the higher price is justified by the upgraded fabric experience.
- If you want to save money or buy multiple covers: Go with the Original slipcover. At $16.24, it's budget-friendly and still machine-washable, so you can buy two or three for the same cost as one Super Deluxe plus a bit more. Consider buying two Originals to always have a clean cover on hand.
- If you live in a warm climate or run hot: The lighter Original fabric may feel more breathable and less insulating than the plush Super Deluxe. Choose Original for a cooler feel.
- If you want a cozy, cushioned surface for contact naps: The Super Deluxe's plushness can make the pillow feel more like a soft resting spot for baby during supervised naps or tummy time. Always supervise baby during any use of the pillow.
