Quick answer

The Pride Spectrums colorway is not a single-flag pride design but a spectrum-inspired pour that celebrates identity as a range, not a label. It glows under UV light and can be customized to other flag colors.

What the design actually represents

Twin Tail Creations describes the Pride Spectrums pour as 'a little bit of beautiful chaos, just like these colors.' The name and description emphasize that identity is rarely a perfect fit and is more of a spectrum. This is not a strict representation of any one pride flag, but a celebration of the messy, colorful reality of self-identification.

The UV-reactive property adds a layer of meaning: the colors glow under UV light, symbolizing the visibility and vibrancy of pride that can shine in the right environment.

Common misconceptions about the colorway

A frequent myth is that the Pride Spectrums pour is a standard rainbow pride flag design. In reality, the catalog notes that 'labels are rarely a perfect fit' and that the colors are intentionally chaotic rather than arranged in a specific order. It is not a reproduction of any single flag.

Another misconception is that the colorway is fixed. The product page explicitly states that 'other flags or color combinations available upon request' via a custom order for a spectrum pour. This means the design is flexible and can be tailored to represent specific identities.

Myths vs. realities

  • Myth: It is a standard rainbow pride flag design: The colorway is intentionally chaotic and spectrum-inspired, not a fixed rainbow flag pattern. The description emphasizes that identity is a spectrum, not a label.
  • Myth: The colors are always the same: You can request custom color combinations for other pride flags or personal preferences through a custom order. The default pour is one of many possibilities. If you want a specific flag representation, consider placing a custom order.
  • Myth: The UV glow is just a gimmick: The UV-reactive property is an intentional design feature that makes the toy glow under UV light, enhancing visibility and adding a playful element that aligns with the pride theme. Use a UV light to see the full effect of the colorway.
