Quick answer
If your cat loves sprawling on a wide, round platform, choose the Queensplace XXL Beige. If you need a taller, more compact design that fits into tighter spaces, go with the Cat Trone XXL Beige.
Key differences at a glance
Both cat trees are built for large and heavy cats, featuring 8-inch thick sisal poles for sturdy scratching. However, their dimensions and top platform shapes set them apart. The Queensplace XXL Beige stands 40 inches tall with a 25-inch diameter round top, while the Cat Trone XXL Beige reaches 47 inches with a rectangular top measuring 24 by 17 inches.
The taller Cat Trone XXL offers a more vertical experience, but its compact base makes it easier to place in corners or against walls. The Queensplace XXL, with its larger round top, provides a more open lounging area but may require more floor space for stability.
Trade-offs between the two models
- Top platform shape and size: Queensplace XXL: 25-inch diameter round top. Cat Trone XXL: 24x17-inch rectangular top. Choose Queensplace if your cat likes to curl up or stretch radially; choose Cat Trone if your cat prefers a defined lounging area.
- Height and vertical space: Queensplace XXL: 40 inches. Cat Trone XXL: 47 inches. Cat Trone offers more vertical climbing opportunity, which can be better for active cats that like to perch high.
- Stability and placement: Both are very stable for large cats. Cat Trone's compact base is easier to position in tight spots. For a corner or narrow hallway, Cat Trone fits better. For an open area, Queensplace's larger base provides equal stability.
