Quick answer
The Re-Ment Sumikkogurashi Walk On A Rainy Day Series is a charming blind box set of miniature dioramas featuring the beloved Sumikko Gurashi characters in rainy scenes. Consider it if you enjoy detailed collectible displays and don't mind the blind box surprise; skip it if you need a complete set without duplicates.
What makes this series unique
The Sumikkogurashi Walk On A Rainy Day Series captures the cozy, melancholic charm of the characters on a rainy day. Each blind box contains one 8 cm tall PVC/ABS figure with a themed backdrop, creating a complete miniature diorama. The series includes 8 regular styles plus a hidden style, adding an element of surprise for collectors.
Unlike larger plush toys or static figures, this series focuses on storytelling through environment. The rainy day theme offers a consistent aesthetic that can be grouped for a cohesive display.
Blind box format: pros and cons
The blind box format means you don't know which style you'll get until you open it. This adds excitement but also risk of duplicates if you're aiming for a specific figure or a complete set. The hidden style has a lower probability, which can drive up costs for completionists.
If you enjoy the surprise and are happy with any style, the blind box is part of the fun. If you need certainty, consider buying from sellers who offer open boxes or verified singles, though they may cost more.
Age and display considerations
This series is recommended for ages 15 and up due to small parts and delicate details. The figures are not intended for rough play. The 8 cm height is ideal for small shelves, desk displays, or fitting into standard mini figure display cases.
The material is PVC/ABS, which is durable for display but can scratch if handled roughly. Keep them away from direct sunlight to prevent color fading.
How to decide if this series is right for you
- You want a complete set: If you must have all 8 regular styles, budget for buying multiple boxes or seek verified complete sets from resellers. Expect duplicates if buying blind boxes individually. Consider buying a full case to increase chances of a complete set, but note that hidden style probability is separate.
- You are new to Re-Ment: Start with one blind box to test if the size and detail meet your expectations. The Rainy Day series is a good entry point due to its popular theme and moderate complexity.
- You want to display them together: The consistent rainy day theme allows all styles to form a cohesive scene. Plan a display area with enough room for 8+ figures, each about 8 cm tall and requiring some depth for the diorama base. Measure your display space to ensure the figures fit without overcrowding.
- You are concerned about duplicates: Blind boxes mean duplicates are possible. If you dislike repeats, trade with other collectors or buy from sellers who guarantee specific styles at a premium. Check local collector groups or online marketplaces for trades.
