Quick answer
The Roll Player Minotaur Promo Punchboard is a single punchboard character sheet that lets one player run a Minotaur in any game of Roll Player. The sheet is double-sided, so you can play the Minotaur as male or female. At $3.78, it's an easy pickup if you already own the base game and want another character option; skip it if you don't own Roll Player or prefer expansions that add systems rather than one new character.
Roll Player
What exactly is in the pack?
You get a punchboard character sheet for the Minotaur, printed double-sided so the male and female versions are both available. There are no dice, cards, or tokens in this product. It is a character option, not a mini-expansion, which is why the price sits under $4 rather than in expansion territory.
How do you add the Minotaur to a game?
Treat the Minotaur sheet exactly like any other Roll Player character sheet. Punch it out, set it in front of the player who wants it, and run the normal setup and scoring for that character. Because it is a punchboard rather than a card, there is nothing to shuffle and no rules text to integrate into the market, dice pool, or any other shared component.
Does the Minotaur work with Roll Player expansions?
Yes. The Minotaur is a character sheet, and character sheets are the layer of Roll Player that expansions build around rather than replace. If you play with Roll Player: Fiends & Familiars, for example, the Minotaur simply becomes another character competing for the same goals while Familiars and Fiends do their work. You do not need to own any expansion to use the Minotaur, and owning expansions does not block it.
What about the Dawn of Ulos rift tiles?
Dawn of Ulos
Those are a separate promo for a different game. The Dawn of Ulos: Rift Tile Pack adds five rift tiles, four with regular terrain and one that counts as all terrain types, shuffled into your supply during setup. If you are shopping for Roll Player content, the Minotaur sheet is the relevant item; the rift tiles will not fit into a Roll Player session.
Is the Minotaur promo worth buying?
It depends on how much you play Roll Player and how much you value variety in character choice. One new character sheet refreshes repeat plays for the person who takes it, but it does not change the game for the whole table the way a full expansion does. If your group has played the base characters many times, this is a cheap way to add a fresh option. If you are still exploring the base game, put the money toward an expansion instead.
Minotaur promo FAQ
Do I need the base game?
Yes. The Minotaur punchboard is a character sheet for Roll Player and does nothing on its own. Buy only if you already own Roll Player.
Can two players use it in one game?
The sheet is double-sided, so one copy gives you the male and female versions, but it is still one physical sheet. Two players cannot both play the Minotaur in the same session with a single copy. One copy per Minotaur at the table.
Is it compatible with expansions?
Character sheets are not replaced by expansions. The Minotaur works alongside Roll Player: Fiends & Familiars and other Roll Player expansions without extra rules. Safe to add to an expanded collection.
Is this the same as a promo card?
No. It is a punchboard character sheet, not a card. If you are looking for card promos, check the product listing carefully before buying. Read the format before you order.
Product facts
- Roll Player: Minotaur Promo Punchboard: Play as the dependable Minotaur (either male or female as the character sheet is double-sided) in your next game of Roll Player. One purchase covers both character versions, so two players at the same table can each have a distinct Minotaur option without buying two copies.
- Roll Player: Fiends & Familiars (Expansion): In Roll Player: Fiends & Familiars, players compete to construct the greatest fantasy characters, now with the help of Familiars and the hindrance of Fiends. Familiars lend unique powers to their keepers, and along with new goods in the market, offer hope. But all the while, malicious Fiends torment the players with new obstacles. If you want more than one new character, this expansion changes the shared game for every player, while the Minotaur promo only changes one seat at the table.
- Dawn of Ulos: Rift Tile Pack (Mini-Expansion): Add more variety to your games of Dawn of Ulos with five new rift tiles. Four of the rift tiles feature regular terrain (one of each type) and the fifth rift tile counts as all terrain types. Simply shuffle them into your supply of rift tiles during setup. This is a Dawn of Ulos promo, not Roll Player content, so do not buy it expecting Minotaur support.
