Quick answer
The Sanrio Large Foldable Storage Box offers more cubic storage space for plush and bulky items, while the Sanrio Foldable Boston Bag is better for travel and carrying on the go.
Capacity and Dimensions
The Sanrio Large Foldable Storage Box measures 15" wide x 10" tall x 10" deep, giving you 1,500 cubic inches of space. That's enough room for several plush toys, a stack of clothes, or a mix of craft supplies. The box is designed to sit on a shelf or in a closet, and you can stack multiple boxes together.
The Sanrio Foldable Boston Bag is larger in width and height at 21" wide x 15.5" tall x 8" deep, which equals 2,604 cubic inches. However, its shape is more like a duffel bag—long and flat—so it's ideal for packing clothes or travel items rather than tall or rigid objects. The bag also has an outer zipper pocket for small accessories.
Portability and Storage
Both items fold flat when not in use, saving space. The storage box has side handles for easy carrying, but it's meant to stay put. The Boston Bag includes a sleeve to slide over a luggage handle, making it a true travel companion. If you need to move your items around frequently, the Boston Bag is more practical.
The storage box is stackable with other cases in the series, which is great for creating a uniform storage system. The Boston Bag is not stackable, but it can be hung or tucked away.
Design and Character Options
Both items are official Sanrio products with embroidered and applique details of your favorite character. The storage box features a single character design on the front, while the Boston Bag has a playful all-over pattern. The character options vary, so you can pick your favorite Sanrio friend for either item.
Trade-offs at a glance
- Storage Box: more cubic space per shelf footprint: The 15"x10"x10" box provides a deep, stackable cube that holds plush, books, or craft supplies upright. Best for stationary storage where you want to maximize vertical stacking.
- Boston Bag: more total volume but flatter shape: The 21"x15.5"x8" bag holds 2,604 cubic inches, but its slim depth means you can't stand tall items inside. Better for packing clothes or travel items that lay flat.
- Portability: bag wins, box is stationary: The Boston Bag has a luggage sleeve and outer pocket; the box has side handles but no travel features. Choose the bag if you need to carry storage on trips; choose the box for home organization.
